The International Middle East Peace Research Center (IMPR) and Adana Chamber of Industry (ADASO) held a meeting entitled “Employment of the Foreigners and Work Permits” with the contributions of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Member of the board of Adana Chamber of Industry Süleyman Baş said, “We should leader no live together. Because if they do not work, they can neither be beneficial for themselves nor for our city. The use of employment potential without compromising work peace is a matter that needs to be sensitively addressed both for our country and for our city. However, it is also imperative to comply with the regulations that will be explained here to prevent unfair competition that damages employment areas and the social lives of individuals”, at the opening speech of the meeting that organized at ADASO Sakıp Sabancı Hall, with the participation of İŞKUR officials, Vice President of ADASO Assembly Aydın Önen, Union of Chambers of Merchants and Craftsmen President Nihat Sözütek, business owners and managers.
At the meeting, in which Importance of the moral support is emphasized as well as financial support, IMPR’s protects and activities also mentioned.
UNHCR Livelihood Program Turkey Director Damla Taşkın made a presentation about “Participation of Foreigners to Employment”, and İŞKUR Adana Provincial Directorate Employment and Occupation Advisor Ergin Koluman delivered a speech on the place of İŞKUR in foreign employment, at the meeting held on April 27, Wednesday. Then, a presentation was made by IMPR on how to apply for a work permit. After the presentations, all questions were answered by the speakers.
In the meeting where the situation of Syrians under Temporary Protection and work permits were discussed, the state of artisan and supervision of Syrian artisans were also discussed in detail. Counselling on how to get license and financial support that provided by IMPR were also briefly explained.
