The workshop entitled “Services Provided by Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for Refugees (PDMM), Asylum Seekers and Foreigners under Temporary Protection” was held on 8 February 2017 at Ankara Atlı Otel.
IMPR Humanitarian President Prof. Dr. Veysel Ayhan, 70 fieldworkers who are assigned in the projects and works IMPR has been conducting in Ankara, Ankara PDMM International Protection Working Group Directorate Vedat Aslan and Vice President Osman Karaca attended the meeting. At the event where IMPR’s fieldwork aimed a refugees, asylum seekers and Foreigners under Temporary Protection and PDMM’s works were introduced and promoted, subjects such as IMPR’s fieldwork and services, general services provided by Provincial Directorate of Migration Management, international protection procedures and law of temporary protection were discussed.
At the workshop, in which a detailed presentation was made regarding the situation of refugees dwelling in Ankara but registered in other cities, a problem which is at the top of Ankara’s issues, informative session was held about which procedures should be followed regarding the unification of family members who are living in different cities. Aslan, who gave information about Satellite Cities, which have important place in the International protection law, explained where should Turkmen families, who came to Turkey and especially to Ankara together with the new wave of migration recently, apply and which way they should follow.
Workshop, which continued with Q&A session, has ended with the wishes of increasing cooperation between NGOs that working in the field and public institutions.
