Informal Education Program first coordination meeting was held in Sanliurfa

On 7-8th of March, IMPR organized Informal Education Program First Coordination Meeting in Şanlıurfa in partnership with UNICEF Turkey and Ministry of Youth and Sport.

Coordination meeting launched with the opening speeches of Prof. Veysel Ayhan, IMPR President, Ibrahim Lubbad, UNICEF Turkey Non-Formal Education Consultant, and Halil İbrahim Demir, MoYS General Directorate of Youth Services. Importance of informal education program and future outcomes have been emphasized. After opening speeches, Murat Duran, MoYS Youth and Sports Expert, made his presentation to introduce the social cohesion and informal education activities of youth centres. At the first day of the meeting, IMPR’s Urfa Community Center and MoYS’s Karaköprü Youth Center were visited by the participants. Activities conducted at the centres have been seen on the site.

During the 2-days coordination meeting MoYS’s youth centre managers and youth leaders from 15 cities, where Informal Education Program takes place, introduced the youth centres. Meeting continued with the introduction of program and developing action steps. Coordination meeting ended with group discussion among IMPR’s province coordinators and youth centre managers and youth leaders disaggregated by region.
